Tour Description

The Bund witnessed the modernization of Shanghai in the 19th century. The story of the Bund is the essence of the story of Shanghai. Most old buildings on the Bund were built between 1906 and 1937 AD. Our expert tour guide will give an in-depth introduction during this 2.5-hour tour.

Your tour starts at Astor House Hotel, initially built in 1846 AD. The decoration in the hotel shows you what a top hotel looked like in the 19th century. The first electric lamp in China was lit up in this hotel. Lots of historical celebrities stayed in the hotel, including Albert Einstein, who visited Shanghai and stayed in the hotel in 1922.

You may feel tied during the tour. You can take a 20-minute rest in the Peace Hotel, where you will go past during the tour. We have prepared postcards for you and you can write your greeting words on these postcards during the 20 minutes. Your tour guide will help you throw these postcards into a postbox on the Bund. The postage is included in our quotation.

Your tour will end at the HSBC Bank Building, initially built in 1925 AD. Although its name is HSBC Bank Building, it is now the headquarter building of SPD Bank. It was also used as the municipal government building in 1955.

Please note it is ok to start the tour at morning or in afternoon
