In the morning, a private car will transfer you from your Shanghai hotel to the airport for your flight to Lhasa. Your Shanghai guide will assist you at the airport and ensure a smooth boarding process.

Upon arrival in Lhasa, you'll be greeted by your local Lhasa guide and taken to your hotel.

• Breakfast and Lunch

Begin your Tibetan adventure at the Potala Palace, once the winter residence of the Dalai Lama. Explore its grand halls and chapels, and visit the tomb of the 13th Dalai Lama. Wear comfortable shoes for the many steps.

Next, visit the Jokhang Temple, or Qokang Monastery, with its iconic golden roof. This sacred temple is deeply revered by Tibetans.

After enjoying lunch at a local eatery, explore Barkhor Street, an ancient path with roots tracing 1,300 years. Known as the Pilgrims' Circuit, it lies adjacent to Jokhang Temple. Witness the vibrant local life, observe the pilgrims, shop from numerous stalls, or unwind in a cozy café, soaking in the atmosphere.

Begin your third day with a visit to Drepung Monastery, nestled under the Gambo Utse mountain west of Lhasa. Established in 1416, this historic site is one of the largest Gelug monasteries in China and was the residence of the Dalai Lamas before the Potala Palace was constructed. In early August, it becomes the vibrant hub of the Shoton Festival.

Next, explore Sera Monastery to the north of Lhasa. Witness the lively Buddhist debates among monks daily at 3 PM, except on Mondays. This fascinating event requires quiet observation.

Enjoy a lunch of traditional Tibetan cuisine at a local restaurant. Conclude your day at Norbulingka, or the "jewelled garden." Initially, the Dalai Lama's summer retreat later served as the central hub for religious and governmental activities.
